About

Stan Bozek, a native of upstate NY, has been playing music as long as he can remember. Beginning with a cheap, barely tuneable “toy” guitar at age 5, he started serious lessons at age 9 with jazz guitarist and Columbia recording artist George O’Dell. The lessons ended 4  1/2 years later but the learning continued as Stan began studying Classical guitar and the Chet Atkins style of finger picking simultaneously.  By age 18, he was playing in country, country rock and pop bands in upstate NY and was soon a highly regarded and sought after player as well as a vocalist, performing at clubs, weddings, fairs and other outdoor events, in addition to recording with many NY musicians. Several trips to Nashville, TN helped to broaden Stan’s opportunities and recording sessions and work with road bands followed as a result.

In 1998, Stan began touring extensively as lead guitarist for the Dennis Lee Show, a popular comedy and music show in the fair circuit.  Stan has shared the stage or opened for many nationally known acts including Sheryl Crowe, Pam Tillis, Valerie Smith, Ray Price, Joe Diffie, Lee Greenwood, the Grass Roots, Dr. Hook, Chris LeDoux, Hal Ketchum, Herman’s Hermits, Edgar Winter, David Lee Roth, The Larkins, and Blues great James Peterson.

In 2006, Stan released his debut CD of instrumental guitar music entitled “SOLO”, and later that year a Christmas CD called “DREAMS OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS” was released.  A third CD, recorded and titled “Live With The Band in Florida” was released in July, 2012 and features Stan’s electric lead and slide guitar virtuosity.  In December 2015, he released a Gospel/Christian  CD entitled “In God’s Country”, which was featured in an Artist/CD Profile in  FINGERSTYLE GUITAR JOURNAL,  an online publication based out of Nashville, TN.  All of Stan’s CDs are available through the merchandise page on this website.  Songs from Stan’s instrumental CDs have become popular on Internet Radio Stations such as Pandora.com, Radio Guitar, Christmas 24/7 and Winterscapes.

When Stan is not playing with a band, he continues to perform as a solo instrumentalist. He has also played in a duo and bands with his son Andrew who is extremely talented on guitar, drums and bass as well as vocals.  A new trio is also in the works featuring Stan, Andrew on drums and bassist extraordinaire Anita Morris,  both of whom supplied excellent rhythm tracks to the “In God’s Country” CD.

Besides his versatility on guitar, Stan also plays dobro, upright and electric bass and sings.  One of the high points of his career was and still is when Chet Atkins complemented Stan’s recording of some of his original compositions.
